INGREDIENTS:
6 ounces of uncooked spaghetti
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 pound lean ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
8 ounces sliced mushrooms
1 jar (approximately 16 ounces) spaghetti sauce
1 can (11 to 15 ounces) whole kernel corn, drained
1 green bell pepper, cut in rings
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
PREPARATION:
Cook spaghetti as package directs; drain and rinse with cool water. Combine spaghetti, eggs, and Parmesan; toss lightly; place in a greased 9-inch square baking dish or deep-dish pie plate. Press over the bottom and up sides of pan to form a "crust." In a large skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef with onion and mushrooms; drain. Stir in spaghetti sauce and corn. Spoon beef-sauce mixture over spaghetti "crust." Top with bell pepper and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes. Serves 4 to 6.

1 cup cottage cheese, lowfat
1 pound ground round
1/2 cup chopped onions
1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper
8 ounces diced tomatoes, canned
6 ounces tomato paste
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 cup shredded lowfat mozzarella cheese


Directions:

Cook spaghetti according to package directions omitting salt and fat; drain and place in bowl. Add butter, eggs, and Parmesan cheese; mix well. Spread over bottom and up the sides of a greased 10" deep dish pie plate. Spoon cottage cheese in "crust"; set aside. In a skillet, brown ground round, onion, and red pepper until beef is brown; drain. Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano, and garlic salt. Spoon over the cottage cheese mixture. Bake, uncovered, at 350 F. for 20 minutes. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese; return to oven for 5 minutes or until cheese melts. Cut into wedges.

"Saucy Spaghetti Pie" - 6 to 8 servings

6 oz. spaghetti noodles
2 eggs; beaten
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tbsp. butter
1 lb. Italian sausage
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 cup sour cream
1 3/4 cup spaghetti sauce
4 oz. mozzarella cheese; sliced

Preheat oven to 350*. Break spaghetti noodles in half; cook as package directs. Drain; turn into mixing bowl; stir in eggs and Parmesan.
Grease 10" pie pan with butter; pour in spaghetti mixture, pressing up and around sides of pan.
Crumble sausage into medium skillet; cook over medium heat until well browned. Remove from skillet; set aside. Pour off all but 2 tbsp. fat from skillet; add onions and saute until soft. Remove from heat; stir in sour cream. Spoon mixture over spaghetti.
Wipe skillet; return sausage and add spaghetti sauce. Simmer 10 minutes. Spoon mixture over sour cream. Bake 25 minutes. Cover pie with mozzarella; bake until cheese melts.

Take 1lb hamburger or sausage & brown over medium heat with 1 onion chopped. In pre-baked pie crust, layer cooked spaghetti noodles, then hamburger mixture, then 1 jar of your favorite sauce. Over that, layer 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms & 1 cup fresh shredded cheese....
