Bartenders work a variety of shifts depending on the daily activites. Most bars are staffed with 2 - 3 bartenders every day. If they have a special activity that requires additional staff they will have only 1 - 2 bartenders and use the extra in another activites. Each bartender signs a contract at employment and they advise how many months they want in their contract. Contracts can be from 4 - 18 months long. They stay on the ship the whole time. Each employee does recieve days off while onboard also. This varies and can be 2 - 8 days a month.
Regarding the hours it can be any where from 8 - 16 hours in a day.

You can work up to 18 hours a day. Cruise ships make the most of their staff. You will have other duties along with bartending. It takes a lot to keep a floating city on the move.
