My friend has this best friend whos a guy, and she heard from one of his best friends that he was getting her a necklace for christmas and then he was going to ask her out. but she doesnt want to go out with him, toi her he is just a best friend. also, she doesnt want to reject him on christmas cause she would feel bad. what should she do?

I take everything i hear with a grain of salt- i dont believe it until it is in front of me. If your friend truly isnt interested in starting a relationship with the guy, then if he asks her, inform her that she should just tell the guy the truth, and let him know that she values his firendship and doesnt want to ruin that by getting into a relationship at this time. As far as Christmas, the only way she should feel a bit uncomfortable is if he asked her to marry him in front of anyone else. she can just take him to the side and talk to him, but dont outright tell him no in front of others...

Anyway, if he gives her the necklace anyway, she should be sweet and just tell him that she is flattered and loves it but wouldn't feel comfortable excepting such a generous gift from a friend.
His best friend should tell him she's not interested however and save him the money!

tell her go out with him, however she is going to bring you or another friend along. This should change his mind and take her off the hook. good luck
