I'm a materialist (the "vegans" of atheists) and I'm married to a baptist. I generally just say "bless you". She generally says nothing but sometimes says bless you. If she was an atheist like me I doubt we'd say anything but the occasional "you okay?" after a sneezing fit or a particularly bad single.

Leave out the 'God' and just say 'bless you'. On a slightly different note: What do you say to God when He sneezes? (Saw that on a Ziggy cartoon once, lol)

the alternatie is "gesundheit" which means good health in german

and it's not about believing god, its a reference in history in britain when illness killed a huge number of the population and sneezing was a symtom, you are simply saying either bless you or gesundheit because of tradition, in hope you do not have that illness

I sometimes say "You sneezed, sorry but I cannot say 'God Bless you' because I do not believe in god, nor can I say 'Bless you' because I don't have that magical power ...yet"

My husband is an atheist, I just "bless you" to him, and leave out the "God" part of it.
People can still have belssings inf they don't believe in God

Depends on what non-christian relgion you have. in paganism you would still say Bless you. But in Aitheism it would be excuse you i guess. It just really depends

I hope you are not contagious.

(I know, I get strange looks but they soon start at lest covering their mouths, now if we could only get people to start using hankies again like they did during the Spanish Flue!)

You could say "salud!" That's what I say, but I am a believing Spanish speaker.
