I know that a LOT of people will not agree with me on this, but after reading some of the comments people have put on here, I just had to get my point across. And if you do not like my opinion, oh well. God is the almighty Creator, always has been here, and always will be here. If you don't believe in God, then shame on you. But while im lazing around in heaven, most of the people will be toiling away in hell. The bible says that you must obey the Ten Commandments, that you must believe that Jesus Christ is our personal savior and that if we do not accept him, then we will go to hell. Take the story of Job for instance. God took away everything that he had to prove a point to the Devil, gave him horrible sores, yet Job never stopped believing in God. This is the example we should follow. And if I have offended anyone, Im not sorry, b/c if I have offended you, then shame on you. It angers me to think that people think God is a tyrant and evil, out to kill everyone. Comments please.

This is not meant to "convert anyone", and this is just my point. My point is not that God is evil, but he cares for us. I'm sorry if my point came off the wrong way. But this is my personal opinion.

I also thank everyone for their opinions they put on here. Again, I'm sorry if it came off the wrong way. I was just finished with reading the most awful comments and must have gotten carried away. But, still, I believe what I wrote, every word of it. Also, I am not trying to convert anyone. I might be repeating myself, but I want to get it straight. I understand that people have different opinions about OGd, and about what will happen when we die. I am sorry if I have offended anyone. I now know that I should have chosen my words more carefully. I still believe what I wrote, though...

I don't see how this came across so strongly. I am confused. This was a comment about what I think, and I do respect other peoples opinions. This was not truely meant to turn into a theological comment. And even here, people are condemning me for my opinion. And it was an opinion. I wanted to see how others felt. Again, I'm sorry my words came off so strongly. It was not meant to.

I didn't realize that it would be such a harsh crowd out there reading this comment. I mean to say that if you do not agree with me, I respect that. But you should also respect my opinion. I realize that people may not want to know what I think. And I have read the bible completely. I know that my words should have been chosen more carefully. I also realize that tohugh someone will not agree with you, they might not know that they're words come off strongly as well. Thank you for your comment. I am a Christian, and I love God with all my heart. I know that God loves everyone, but that people need personal experiences in their life. You stick with your views, and I'll stick with mine. People are differnet, with their own views. I respect that.

And also look at the first line I wrote," I know that a LOT of people will not agree with me on this." Realize that everyone has their own opinions. Don;t condemn me for speaking my mind, and I won't do that to you.

It saddens me to see that some people think I am a hypocrite or that I am immature or I have not read the bible. I am just like everyone else, except for some people who are with me when I say that I am proud to be Christian. I do not condemn you for what you think. I try to help, but most people shrug off the things I tell them when I try to talk to them about God. I accpet the fact that people don't want to listen because they think that ALL christians are hypocrites. I also think that you sohuld give God a chance. He has done some truely miraculous things. Let him work miracles in your life. This is not an attempt to "convert" you or anything like that, but I think that if someone tries to tell you about Jesus, you should listen, and respect what the person has to say. And if you walk away with nothing to gain from that conversation, then you missed out on a great oppotunity. That is my opinion, and if you do not like it, deal with it, nad deal with your own emotions. Thank-you.....

Also, what I said in my first post, 2 hours or so ago, was said in anger. Don't you have to have time to cool off before rational thoughts can begin to come? The same is with me.

I agree with you. People use the excuse, " I dont have time to read the Bible", well that is the stupidest thing I have ever heard, They should make room. Boy will the unbelievers have a VERY BIG suprise when Jesus comes back again. They will wish they had listened to those that tried to tell them about Jesus. All jesus does is great things for me and my family and loves me. He loves those that dont love him. He died for those that dont love him, but still he has the Heart to those that dont care about what he has done to give everyone everlasting life.Jesus is SO AWESOME in my life, and I hope others will get the change to see God's loves and compassion for others.

Does that make you feel better about yourself? You seam to take pleasure in the fact that other people are going to suffer for all of eternity, but you on the other hand will be "lazing around heaven". You have obviously not read the bible. I thought Christians are supposed to be "Christ like", you know act the way Jesus would. I don't think Jesus would ever gloat over someone who is going to be condemned to hell if they don't change there ways. Shame on someone who is offended? Just because someone doesn't believe what you believe that dose not make them a bad person. I think you need to actually sit down and read the bible! If you did and truly believed in what you are reading then you will that you have to have respect of others and what they believe even if you think what they believe is wrong, Jesus did!

The stories in the Bible are not believable to an honest adult, yet you say "shame on you" for not being as gullible as you seem to be.
Then you go on to say that you expect to be rewarded w/ "lazing around in heaven" by simply believing a silly story.Aren't you making it easy for yourself? Maybe someone should offer you a few bucks for accepting Voodoo.
If you mature enough to be moral and ethical w/o being bribed you might begin to understand what morality is all about.
Did you enjoy the part where God killed Job's family to test his allegiance to his god? Then gave him some nice diseases to get his mind off his grief.
I don't think you would have seen it that way if you were Job's wife.
God sure won his argument w/ the "Devil".
Better hope he doesn't argue w/ Satan about your father's loyalty.
You keep talking about your "FEELINGS",and that's what keeps you from maturing.
You can not think w/ your emotions; your brain must be involved.

I read your comments and I certainly do not think that "...God is a tyrant and evil, out to kill everyone." In fact, to be honest, I do not even go to church anymore. But I do know there is a God. I know one has to exist. Because if there is a hell out there, then there has to be a heaven. And if there is a heaven, then there has to be a God.
As for "...Jesus Christ is our personal savior..." there are some out there who might disagree with you based on a certain person's religion. Different religions have different beliefs. But I have a simple way of rationalizing this event. There might only be one God and all of the religions that exist in the world are just different ways of making people comfortable to praying to the same God.
There is a lot of literature out there that supports religious beliefs to be quite healthy for a person's mental state. These same documentations suggest that trips to church and interactions with other patrons of the church is biologically healthy for a person's stress levels as well as for a better positive outlook on life.
So, is religion good? Yes, it is. Is a specific religion better than another? I don't think anybody is qualified to say that. Should we have religious beliefs though? Yes, we should.

"It angers me to think that people think God is a tyrant and evil, out to kill everyone."
Um, have you read the Bible? I have a friend who once read the violence and brutality in the Old Testament and he always jokes around with me by saying that he thought he was reading about the Devil by mistake. Seriously, the OT is littered with disturbing stuff like that.
"But while im lazing around in heaven, most of the people will be toiling away in hell."
And you'll be sitting up there enjoying Heaven while all the sorry fools beneath you (who only made the horrible mistake of not being Christian) are burning in an endless sea of fire. How totally nice of you...

It's not to complain about GOD . It's to make a point of how all of you people that need to pass his word along are hypocrites . You should lead by example and not be so quick to judge those of us who prefer not to give our hard earned money to a cult , driven by sole less leader who keep you blind to the realities of the world . You may even believe that people commit crimes because of the music they listen to or the games they play . Then we as a society need to stop the spiritual leaders from listening and playing them too . What kind of car does your religious leader drive ? What kind of home do they live in ? You need to wake up and look at yourself before you judge others . God is who you want him to be , If it makes you a better person , than good . But when you discriminate blindly against others because your told what they believe in is wrong , well then , may GOD help you . What may be good for one may not be for all . Stop pushing your religion and judging others . Pay attention to your actions and thoughts .

People are in ignorance about God and so they try to blame Him for the problems in this material existence. The fact is we somehow at some time chose to be away from God. In this material existence we are getting our desire fulfilled in being so far removed from God that we find that things are now very difficult.
We can go on trying to improve our eating, sleeping, mating, intoxication, and fighting; but the really great use of human intelligence is to learn about our true eternal self.
If it weren't for God's mercy, we would not have this opportunity to use our human intelligence to understand our true eternal self. So we should go on thanking God even when times are really bad because God's mercy is everpresent. We are just suffering due to having been avoiding God since time immemorial.

I will take no offense at your post, but will tax you with a question: what is the evidence for your considerable claims? Have you anything beyond the bible? The bible will not do, for two reasons: firstly, it is full of errors (as well as self-contradictions), and secondly, it amounts to circular reasoning. Noted Catholic theologian Hans Kung concluded (correctly, in my view) that the existence (or non-existence) of god could not be demonstrated by logic or evidence. (Not surprisingly, he chooses to believe the affirmative -- he is, after all, a priest.) From this, it follows that every theory of religion is useless: none have any predictive value.

I don't agree with you but I respect your right to say these things. How about you respect mine and not try to convert me?
EDIT: You keep apologising for causing offence and telling us that you respect other beliefs, but this is cut and pasted from your post. 'if I have offended anyone, Im not sorry, b/c if I have offended you, then shame on you.' so cut the crap, OK?

"You must believe that Jesus Christ is our personal savior and that if we do not accept him, then we will go to hell" A good person who does great things for people should have to follow a ridiculous non-sense rule just to in the graces of God. If being a good person isn't enough for god then god is evil.
