I get eczema from time to time so I know what you are going through. It itches and burns but don't itch it. I use All laundry detergent, the type with no perfume or dye, that helps. Get goat milk soap, it's very mild and smells good, won't irritate. Get real aloe vera, at the health food store, it's pure there, put that on when you have an outbreak. After your shower, which should only be luke warm, not too hot, use grapeseed oil instead of lotion, it is wonderful, soaks in fast and makes your skin so smooth. Lotions are too thick, just stay with the oil. Good luck.

The best thing and cheapest Ive found is a daily regimine of good old vaseline. A small amount and rub it in on a nightly basis (after getting out of the shower to retain the moisture in your skin) works wonders. It may not go away overnight, but you will see a difference an a few days.
Taking a long soaking bath in WARM water, not hot, that has epsom salts is also good for the skin. Make sure to have traction skids in the bottom of the tub since the epsom salts make the surface feel very very slick. You can get the same thing only scented in someplace like BED BATH AND BEYOND or in the health or home section of most stores as bath salts.
Just make sure that nothing you use has any alcohol of any kind in it. Alcohol will dry out the skin, and most moisturizers have at least some kind of isopropy alcohol or variation of.
