If he really likes you then there is no way that its not going to hurt him when you tell him you dont want to b wit him no more but you should do it ASAP cuz as time goes by, he might like you more and more and will b harder and hurt him more that it will now. He' ll thank you in the long run cuz it shows your ententions were good and that you didnt wantto hurt him.

no matter what you will hurt his feelings just try to let him go easily that dosen't mean start flirting with other guys that will break his heart say something along the lines of i don't think this is working out the way i want it to be ...
or something like that

Tell him you need to take a couple steps back because you want to fly solo. Don't say "i just want to be single for awhile." put it "i want to be single. it's not you, it's me." Tell him straight up and ASAP. Do NOT drag it out whatever you do otherwise it just gets harder. Good Luck!

just tell him you don't want to be with him anymore but you would like to stay in touch with him. it would hurt both of you more if you stayed in a relationship you didn't want to be in.
