Can someone honestly tell me why a woman trucker cant do the job of a male trucker or is it just racism?

Whether it's RACISM or SEXISM to me they are both have the same meaning(both are dealing with a concept and ideal of labeling, to instill a so-called social norm). Man decided to instill this so called GENDER-ROLE, ie. the WOMEN should cook,clean,&bear children. MEN are the hunters, providers,the-head-of-the -house. That kind of thinking spreads further even into the mass. Ask anyone to picture a truckdriver, and chances are you will get: A big burly red-neck tobacco chewing , rough edged, MAN in flannels and baseball cap. Although there are laws against such discrimination, you and I both know there are indirect things that continue to let such IGNORANT thinking&treatment give way to supress people just because they may be biologically different. YES WOMEN CAN BE GREAT TRUCK DRIVERS and YES MANY MALE DRIVERS WILL DISLIKE FEMALE DRIVERS.....unfortunately.

Put the race card away for now.....It's called sexism if it is and act biased, or bigoted against you. Yes, many women can do the job of a male trucker as well or even better than some male truckers. If you are referring to off-hand comments, or acts of discrimination, contact your company supervisor, HRM, and/or EEOC Office and report the problem.

Hey, I was on the road for about 10 years and, my observation was that woman can do everything a man can, except unload wrapping paper at Meijers, but the good company's will buy you a lumper for the heavy stuff. They don't want you getting hurt. I think woman handle the guys on the dock at the auto company's better then I do. They will leave the grocery warehouse without cussing like I do. So, my point is woman do that job every single day. So don't whine about racism, get that chip off of your shoulder and you will be fine. Oh I forgot it is part of the truck drivers job to bitach about everything. Sorry.

You confuse race and gender. Are you so often this confused about things? From your previous posts, I gather that you are a working class conservative, not very bright, without a college degree, and looking to pick political fights ala Rush Limbaugh, who I am sure you idolize.

As for trucking, if I contracted you, and you deliver your loads on time, I wouldn't care if you were a gay cross-dressing satan-worshiping transvestite!

As long as you got the job done. But hey. I'm a liberal. And open-minded. Your conservative male trucker pals just hate you because they hate women in general. You mess with trucker tradition as far as they are concerned. 99% of them are repubs.....right?

There are some things men can do better and there are some things women can do better. It all comes out even in the end. However, there are those things that either sex can do equally well and truck driving is one of those things. As long as a woman is well trained like a man why can't she? Bias against women is called sexism.

Racism??? Don't think so... If the woman can do the whole job, which often requires loading and unloading the truck... then fine... and many male drivers could care less otherwise. And in fact many have their wifes as co-drivers.

I can honestly tell you there is no reason a woman cannot do the same work as a man, not just in trucking, but in every aspect, of EVERY job. It doesn't make them racist if they say a woman, can't, it makes them sexist, hater's of their mother's, and afraid of the power of womanhood. Racism is about different kinds of people, black's, whites, hispanics, asian, hating each other.
A man without a woman is lonely, empty, and childless, OR GAY!

What you are referring to is "sexism". I for one see no reason why a woman should be kept from any job she is able to do so long as she is legally in America.
