I hate to post another "help with a name" question, but I'm truly at a loss. My boyfriend and I are getting a small black and white, female cat and are having a tough time with the name. I was hoping to come up with something that goes with her look. Like I said, she's small, black and white. She's missing most of her ears due to frost bite (ya ya, I know there's some good ones to go with that, but we won't be using any of those lol), and her eyes are the deepest, darkest blue-green color. They're amazing!! Any names that work with the color of her eyes? Her name at the animal shelter right now is Emerald, but I don't really like that.

Thanks for your suggestions :)

Esmerelda
Mermaid
Teal
Mallard

Baast (the cat-god of Egypt)
or
Cleoptra. She was known for wearing Emeralds, that came from her own Emerald mine in Upper Egypt.

We called our black and white (tuxedo) cat "Prom" because she looks dressed up all the time.

How about Bluck? Blue eyes/Black cat

Or Nips ( the ears - there are a lot of good names - lol)

Gem or Jewel

Gucci, Prada or Fendi (these are what I would name cats or kids at the moment based on my current purse fetish)

Sharbot - that is the name of the girl with emerald green eyes that was on the cover of National Geographic in 1985. At the time, and for 17 years after she was known as the "Afghan girl" and the photographer didn't know who or where she was. Eventually he found her in 2003. But it was a much talked about mystery during that time and a touching story. Kind of like a kitty missing it's ears.

No specific suggestions, just some suggestions for how to decide on the best name for your new cat.
1) Remember that your cat's name is for life, so it may be best to choose one name and stick with it.
2) Wait a couple of days until after you get her to see if there is something about her personality or behavior, in addition to her appearance, that stands out; but choose something soon so she can start learning it.
3) Don't name her something that you will be embarrassed to call out loud.
4) Teach your kitty her new name as soon as possible by rewarding her with lots of loving and petting.
