been on citalopram for 3 years, low dosage, but now im suffering on them, i keep having every symptom that you get from them even panicking, the worst one its effecting my hormones, i'll have visual disturbances thinking im gay, my low sex drive for women has gone, the thing is I KNOW IM NOT GAY hell i pick up women for a living, i teach guys how to get laid and i love women, but my tablets are making me think i feel attraction to guys, is this possible? and should i come off these? i cant even eat, im not sleeping propely its killing me and i know im not gay, for sure and im not indenial its these tablets, there doing something to my hormones

It is the possible side effect ot the medication, it decreases your sex drive it also causes you to have decreased or increased appetite and your sleep pattern may be disrupted

One of the side effects of citalopram is ejaculatory delay & impotence. Another S/E is mood changes & suicidal ideations. Talk to your MD in regards to the dose, or perhaps changing medications to one with a more favorable outcome for you. Best of luck :-)

you need to talk to your family doctor about this, not on here. Sounds like you might be gay and you are having issues with accepting it.. Pills don't make you change your feelings for women and turn gay my friend.. You need to get some help obviously.. peace out :)

Some antidepressants do indeed affect sexual desire. I haven't heard the change in preference as one of the side-effects.

Then again, if we are honest, we all have "bi" urges once in a while.
