Because if you feed bears, it turns them into beggars. Then, they become nuisance bears and have to be shot by government wildlife agents. It's very sad and tragic and if people just didn't feed bears, then the bears wouldn't have to be shot.
I doubt that's the answer...but I'm not kidding about nuisance bears. Happens around the Smoky Mountains National Park far too often.
