The young man at question was charged with six counts and a pellet gun was used to commit the crimes, however at the time of arrest there was a vehicle persuit as well but he is not being charged with that as of current time. However he did confess to the six felonies at hand. What is the lenght of time he is facing at present and is there an alternative such as a work/millitay camp as to prison?

Ok , first of all.. A 17 year old is not a minor in Illinois. as far as the criminal process he is an adult. As far as the armed robbery goes, if this is the correct charge (armed robbery) the statute says: 720ilcs 5/18-2 Armed robbery in violation of subsection (a)(1) is a class "x" felony (sub sec 1 says he had a weapon other than a firearm) A violation of sub section (a)(2) which adds another 15 years on top of the what the court imposes to his prison term. (sub sec 2 means he had a firearm) if he fired a weapon while committing the crime they add 20 years on top of the prison term. If when shooting, a victim suffers great bodily harm or death there is anywhere from 25 to natural life added to the initial prison term.

Being tried as an adult means that they're trying to throw the book at him. 10 to life depending on any aggravating circumstances.
