Definitely not. Most of us put on our boots and go to work on Christmas just like any other day. Terrorists don't take time off for Christmas, neither do we.

ROTFLMAO!!! I wish.
See, the Congress and the Senate considers it ok to vote themselves a 5 to 15 % pay raise every year but only give the military 2.5% on January 1, 2006, which is the biggest pay raise my husband has seen in his career and is only considered cost of living. And the only bonuses the military gets is the one they MAY get when they reenlist. That's variable depending on what their job is, how long they've been in and several other equations the powers that be use to figure it.

You have to be kidding? I have never received a Christmas bonus and do not know anyone who has and DEAR especially not the military.

God Bless you and The Southern people.

I wish! lol...In fact twice my husband had his check at christmas time shorted. Why? Because they took half the food allotment away "because they wouldn't need it since they were going home for the holidays" (I actually followed up on that because I thought that just couldn't be true!) What's really dumb about that is that you only get the allotment if you live off base and can't eat free at the base.
LOL...christmas bonus...oh that made me laugh! :-)

Nope.

The military doesn't ever get a periodic raises, except for cost of living, and promotions.

our "bonuses" come in different forms. Like getting hazardous duty pay for certain deployments, pay raises with rank, separation pay, etc.

No, but if this were true....

The military is not like any other jobs.
Pay raises (rank) come with promotions and seniority.
