I have 2 dogs and have spent numerous dollars on bedding. Every time I buy nice soft place for them to lay, they tear it apart. The cotten stuffing goes everywhere, as if it snowed! They are sleeping on the cold hard concrete now. I love my dogs but cant keep buying chew toys like that.

Go to a pet supply website and look at the dog beds. You can get these great beds that get them off the ground, but they don't have stuffing to tear out. They are made of a nylon material which keeps them dry and they are easy to clean. They are also supposed to be chew proof. They sort of look like a cot, and my golden loves hers- we just give her an old blanket in the winter for extra warmth. go to www.kuranda.com to look at them. Called an indoor/outdoor cot.

When dogs "kill" their beds it's sometimes done in retaliation for being left alone or ignored for long periods of time during the day.

Some dogs chew their bedding because they have a high prey-drive and see the fluffy beds as "prey".

Training is the only thing that can arrest this behavior. you're going to have to spend time with the dogs when they're with their bedding and stop them every time they start chewing/tearing at it. (Don't yell at them or hit them when they chew/tear; just stop the behavior and praise them when they behave.) We use the command "nice-nice" when we want the dogs to stop chewing on stuff here at the shelter.

some canines only p.c. to tear up something crammed to get on the fluff, no count if it particularly is crammed toys or doggie beds. There are quilted pad beds, your dogs will possibly no longer experience the would desire to bite that up, works with my canines. you additionally can only fold up a extensive blanket various circumstances. As to the "discipline and hit" suggestion, human beings like that would desire to no longer be everywhere close to canines. readability, besides the fact that, makes a sturdy element, your dogs probable desires extra exercising and is doing this severe de-stuffing out of boredom, in case you particularly need to maintain your dogs from pulling stuffing out of toys and beds, you may continually use a undeniable water spray, yet honestly, why no longer only steer away from the subject by employing employing annoying Kong toys or quilts fairly of froth beds.

provided the dogs with toys they're allowed to chew up, and praise them when they DO play with those toys. No brain-er there, but also pick up some kind of bitter based spray doggie deterrent you use on furniture etc. on the bedding. I can't think of a brand name, but it's pretty common in pet stores

A dog should be trained on how to eat, walk with you, not to bark, potty training and sleep on its place etc. You can teach anything to your puppy, dogs get trained easily with some good instructions. If you want some good training tips visit https://tr.im/SIjnC

If properly trained, they should also understand whistle and gesture equivalents for all the relevant commands, e.g. short whistle or finger raised sit, long whistle or flat hand lay down, and so on.

It's important that they also get gestures and whistles as voice may not be sufficient over long distances and under certain circumstances.
