To get a better life does NOT mean to have a new, fancy car and all the latest CDs and a loud-azz boom box. Those things can come later, when the hard work that is required to get ahead is finished.

A good education and a desire to DO a good job is usually required. If you take pride in your work, and have chosen a good career, the success will come to you. You just have to be prepared to handle it.

Work hard, get as much education as you can, ASK for help if you need it. You should not be able to get a better life by taking (or having it taken) from hard working people who deserve the fruits of their labors. You should not be able to get it by breaking the law, lying, stealing, accusations of racism, or just demanding that it be given to you. A better life does not have to be defined by wealth either. You can have a better life just by learning to budget your money and not coveting that which belongs to your neighbor. You are responsible for making your life better. No one should be obligated to give it to you just because you see yourself as being oppressed if they don't.

We need to ask the Mexican government that, I don't think they know. From what the Mexicans coming here have said, Mexico must think a better life is its rich getting richer, and its poor getting poorer.
