King Abdullah rules Saudi right now. It's very Islamic. Westerners can't even enter Saudi unless they are Muslim and religious symbols of any other religion other than Islam are prohibited. If a westener were to come into Saudi that person would be thrown in jail and than deported. But it's fun because if someone commits a crime they are put to death and there is no crime in Saudi because of it. When someone is going to die it's broadcast on TV, the name and what crimes the person committed. Then when the person is killed they hang him in a tree for a week so everyone can see him.

A royal family rules Saudi Arabia; they are the real power. I can't remember the name though. They have a parliament that passes laws. Women aren't allowed to drive cars, and that is an issue to the few women legislators over there.

Saudi Arabia is controlled by the Saudi family. Its ruled by a king, last i heard there are over 500 prince's and each one is a multi millionaire. The government is very restrictive and ruled by islamic law. They don't allow the expression of religion and speech. Women are not allowed to drive cars, but their are women doctors. Its wealth comes from oil, but most of the people don't get to see any of this money. Poverty is widespread.

Saudi Atabia is a kingdom. Ruled by the Al Saud family. The king at the moment is Abdullah. He took the place of his brother Fahad when he died a couple of years ago. It is a very closed, restrictive society. There are no other churches except Islam. There are no movie theatres, no bars, no alcohol.. It is a patriarchal society where men rule. Women are not allowed to drive. They have to be fully covered in black when they go out. They still do not get educated and fully 70% of the female population do not know how to read and write. Take away the oil and the foreigners who they depend on for jobs like construction, garbage hauling, driving their women around, running their financial system, nursing, etc., etc., etc., and within 6 months they would be back to their tents in the desert doing what they started out doing roaming for food and water. I know. I lived there for 15 years.
