The people there are generally helpful. In fact I was so touched by a young Hong Kong couple because I was 'lost' in Kowloon and this couple walked me all the way back to my hotel! Imaging taking time off from shopping to help a complete stranger!
The food there is also wonderful. You get an amazing variety of Chinese food in Hong Kong and the pricing's reasonable.
I also enjoyed shopping in Hong Kong, especially in the little independent boutiques. The people in Hong Kong dress really well, so you know how much shopping Hong Kong has to offer.
I visited Hong Kong last year in March and the weather during that particular month was a little chilly. But that's also the time where I get to see the office executives decked in designer trench coats and boots.
The nicest thing about Hong Kong is the transportation system. It's so convenient to get from point A to point B because of the MTR system.
If given a choice, I'd gladly visit Hong Kong again but this time I'd make it a point to visit its Disneyland.

I stayed in Hong Kong for a day and a half, and I wish I stayed much longer. The city itself is fun to walk around, the food is good, many places to shop, like Stanley Market which is cool. Going to the highest part of Hong Kong (forgot the name) and looking down at the city is really awesome too.

Everything is great in Hong Kong. Shopping is great there is everything you could imagine at bargain prices. If your in the markets a key thing is try to lower the price you could get something for really cheap. Don't do it in a shopping mall though. Food is excellant there is so much variety you could eat anything you want. And definately the people they are so kid even though ley do shout but they are generally kind.

To over simplify the massive information, let's just put it in one word, "freedom".
With the exception of the obvious like firearms, illegal drugs and biological hazards, things and people move freely about, in and out and around.
They are diversified and modern in many aspects yet you still find some strong old traditional values.
If you are rich, this is one of the best play ground to be. Even if you are not, you can enjoy life to some extend.
But the draw back is that you do have to deal with the daily stampede with almost 7 million people in a place that is barely 1000 sq. kilometer in size.
