First of all smack the guy who told you to get a texturizer..

A texturizer is a weak relaxer that will loosen the curl pattern of nappy hair, give it a curl/wave, instead of making it straight like a regular relaxer.

If your hair is too "good" (and i hate using that terminology for looser textured afro hair - but you said it) for a regular relaxer putting a texturizer in it is only going to make it thin and stringy.

How about you go natural and stop using chemicals on your hair.. You've had experience with it taking your hair out so don't go that route anymore.

Perhaps you should try a diffrent method of locking your hair.. someone with your hair texture may benefit from braid-lox or 2 strand twists..

Also not washing your hair for 6 months.. well.. that's just nasty and not healthy.. sorry but i had to say it. Washing your hair (in african americans) is a part of the locking process and actually helps the hair to lock faster as it gets wet, swells, expands, and then dries/shrinks back up... when I started my locks I did it with 2 strand twists and lock gel (stay away from beezwax - it's the devil) I washed my new lox at 3 weeks old, most of em came down, but that wuz expected, and I just started over again.. Eventually less and less of it came down, and more and more if it stayed in the lock pattern.

Pay a visit to the locks forum @ http://www.nappturality.com there are plenty of sistas there with looser textured hair who lock up. It may take longer for yours to start matting, but patience and proper maintenance is the key

If you don't plan on locking, cool, but for the sake of your hair's health stay away from relaxers, chemicals, and texturizers..

give your hair a rest!!!!! Let it be natural for awhile, hair can only handle so much before it just won't take the abuse anymore. I have had so many customers that abuse their hair that hair color won't be accepted into the hair and relaxers won't be tolerated. Get a good shampoo and conditioner and a good reconstructor and give it a break. Sebastian has Penetraitt which is a all protein reconstructor or even 2+1 which is 2 parts moisture and 1 part protein. What ever your hair needs give it. Good luck!!
