It's a worse addiction than all others combined. And an alcoholic is never cured. As per your question, alcoholics aren't interesting or funny, except maybe to themselves.

Some interesting facts....alcohol becomes the master, you will arrange your schedule around drinking, i.e. can't make it to the kids school functions, possibly miss days at work, or quit work or get fired,some alcoholics are able to function and keep their jobs, their families, and maintain an outward appearance of someone who is okay. Make promises to loved ones that you will not keep, behave in ways that you would not normally behave if not drinking, isolate, try to control everything, feel guilt and remorse over things said or done and then do the same things over again. Go to jail, mental institutions, or commit suicide, or wish that you could. Develope physical health problems. Destroy all trust from others and trust no one. Lose husbands/wives, children. Think your God's gift to the human race, but look and feel like crap. Be angry or sad, think your losing your mind. I dont know how interesting these facts are, but for a real alcoholic, these are some facts. Another interesting fact is that an alcoholic doesn't have to live like this. They can go to AA and if they choose to do a few simple things, they can have their life back and not have to drink again.

Most people who are alcoholic are very narcissistic.
They also are in denial unless they have put themselves in AA. (Best program for them).
They fall off the wagon sometimes but always have a sponsor to help them gain their way back.
They get a medal after being a year sober.
The male alcoholics lose their sexual desires or are unable to perform.
They can urinate in bed.
I am not an alcoholic but was married to one.
