I don't like exercise and I don't want to do too much but I'm getting rounder and rounder and I want back my youthful trimness. I am 53, never liked sport, and lazy. And I drink.

Cutting out drinking will help, there's a lot of empty calories in alcohol. Maybe once you stop drinking you will have a desire to engage in physical activies. It also may help you to stop drinking if you put in an exercise plan. Keep it simple, treadmill 20 minutes a day in front of day would be a good start. Good luck.

Yes you can.Make sure you start off slowly and build up by repeating the number of sit ups x 3.Cut out booze and replace with plenty of water and fruit tea.look at your diet and see what you can change for the better.Remember you may not achieve a washboard belly due to a loss of elasticity but you will lose weight and gain definition.

Assuming you are serious try getting a workout dvd and doing it at home .. You sound like you drink an awful lot and that aint good you will need to address your diet and liquid intake if you wish to lose the excess .. if you are not serious try having lipo and then you can drink and carry on doing nothing to be healthy lipo is the lazy option to weight loss it will make your wallet lighter though

It'll certainly help - alcohol carries a lot of calories
But at 53 you would need to change your diet and exercise to shift a serious amount of weight.
Can't hurt before the drink-fest that is the Christmas period though.

you can't have all you like at the same time and for sure you can't have the same body as when you were 20. i don't think you need to put pressure on you self but consider that a round belly is not as bad for looks as it is for your health. try to cut your drinks to half and try to walk as much as possible. in time you will feel so much better that you will want to do more exercise. but in any case think what you really like best...better looks or a couple of pints with friends.
good luck

snap ! i power walk 3 miles a day, do sit ups, eat heathily but drink lager, but still got fat belly, its impossible to get off. We could stop the lager, stay in, dont eat, dont smoke, exercise like mad, have no social life, and be pretty depressed. So what s the answer ??? maybe i should ask the question

Situps will only build muscles underneath the fat.
Stopping drinking will definitely help but you really need to do some form of cardio excercise. Maybe you could get an exercycle and put it in front of the tv?

The best way to get trim is to walk a couple of miles every day without fail, 4 inches will drop off your waist within a fortnight.

you can if you cut down on the drink and start some exercise you enjoy. something as a hobby maybe that you dont look at as exercise. the older you get , the more difficult it is to lose fat though so it may not be easy

I haven't had a drink for seven weeks and I've lost 10lbs. That's with no exercise at all - I'm far too lazy!!!
