Although it is possible the officer was trying to put a scare into her, more than likely was just trying to stress a possible outcome to a behavior that does come from a mental disorder. She has/had a problem. Being a Father of 3 and Grandfather of 3, I would do whatever it took to turn them around if they were exhibiting self-destructive behavior such as this. I really don't see what you have to complain about. Obviously, with help, she has turned a corner in a very positive direction. Cheers.

properly the least the mum might desire to've performed replaced into call the police station previously. I recommend fairly, you do not walk right into a police state the place ALL officers interior the development have no theory what the hell you're doing and say on your daughter "that's the place you circulate once you're naughty." If i replaced right into a type of officers, it would have sounded particularly rattling weird and wonderful to me besides. i know a mom who punished her daughter for theft via taking her to the police station and making her placed on an illustration that reported "i'm a thief"; then she made her walk up and down the sidewalk for each individual to work out. The law enforcement officials took the lady and referred to as CPS on the mum and that they have been labored with for over a three hundred and sixty 5 days because of the fact the mum basically did not see what replaced into so incorrect with this punishment.

To be honest with you the officer wasn't "trying to scare " your daughter. If someone says in the present of Law Enforcement or a credible family member that they want to harm themselves then as a cop we are duty bound to take that person into custody under the Baker Act. At which time the person IS taken to a Mental Health facility. I am glad that your child turned out well.

Read the answers to your other question.
If this was two years ago....why are you asking now?
They 'scared' her with the threat....because it wasn't a 'scare'.
It's what they are required to do with mental patients.

it was not a scare they would have for her own protection,
If she had not agreed to voluntary treatment the counselor would have had her committed for eval.

you answered your own question.
would you rather they had patted her on the head and helped her hold her hand steady while she slit her wrists?
