He's not ready for too much of a commiment and just wants to see where things lead. Don't push him for more.

I say it, to me it means not to rush into anything lets see where the road takes us. If the flow speeds up then that's fine. It has got nothing to do with control, if anything it should mean equal partners and can also resemble commitment. I don't think it's a bad thing.

He's not interested in committing to you, and he's keeping his options open for other possibilities. If you're only interested in a long-term relationship with potential for marriage, etc., this would not be the man for you.

it means that he has his options open. he will jump in bed if you want, or wait if you want. because he hasnt got you as a certainty he has made allowances to see others. in his none committal way he has left the doors wide open to do whatever, whenever.
