That's an absolute no-no. It could drive a wedge between you and your best friend. Even if she says it's okay, it won't be.

Get your own man.

It all seems simple now, but it might turn out different when you're somewhat farther along. She says it's okay for you to date him IF they break up. But does she really know what she's saying. Or isn't she serious about this boy or something?
If for some reason they break up, and you would come to be with him, don't you think that it might become awkward? If she really cares about him, then it could mean trouble for you later on in the future of your friendship with her. If that's something you're willing to risk...
But maybe out of self respect you should find someone who will be in to you, and just YOU. Instead of waiting for this guy to break up with his girl. You deserve someone who sees and likes you for who you are, instead of the next sextoy.
In any case; good luck to you and your friend.

Can't believe you would even have to ask. You should never date any of your friends ex's, especially your best friend. She says shes okay with it but she probably isn't. I don't know, I don't think any guy is worth ruining a friendship over.

Even thouugh you really like him you should not go for him because your friend will still have feeling for this person and may not like you if you were to get with him

Well, she is your friend, so no, you should not do that, because it's rude to do that, she is your best friend, so you should, out of respect for your best friend, find your own lover.

Good luck.

talk to her first and give it at least a month but in the meantime try for someone else and try to avoid the situation all together.

As long as you don't pressure them into breaking up and your friend says it's ok, then I'd say yes go ahead. :-)
