We fill the bottom of a large broiling pan with 1/4 inch of water. Put the lid on the pan and lay the fresh or defrosted crab legs on top. Put in a 350 degree oven on bake and they will steam really nice. Sometimes when they are done, my husband will put them in the microwave just for a few seconds to soften the shell so they are easier to crack.

I think the best way to eat crab is cold with a cocktail sauce (ketchup & horseradish), a loaf of nice fresh Sourdough French Bread and butter. Don't forget to spread some newspapers and the bowl for the shells. Eating good crab is like a good steak, don't cover up the flavor of the main ingredient...

Unless you got the whole live crab off the boat, it is already cooked. You can just put the legs in boiling water to reheat them, and serve with drawn butter.

We steam ours for 10 minutes. So GOOD! We love crab legs. And make up a melted butter with garlic and one lemon's worth of lemon juice. YUM.
And save the shells to make stock and chowder!

use a big roaster pan preferable with a rack so the steam instead of boil and just cook them long enough to turn the meat white (they start kinda translucent) OH and I always cut them down the soft white side of the shell with kitchen scissors before I cook them so you don't handle them hot out of the pot!!! ENJOY

To cook crab legs buy a cooking book and start reading. If you can't read that stinks for you.
