I have slept on a Tempurpedic memory foam matress for 7 years now. It is the most comfortable bed I have slept on in my life. I will never own another type of matress.
I have a very bad back- broke it in a car accident and had two surgeries with rods and screws.I used to go to sleep and wake up with more pain due to my "back support" spring matress. Now I often go to bed in pain and wake up feeling great thanks to my Tempurpedic. I have tried many types of matresses and toppers and there is just nothing like the tempurpedic.
The first few weeks sleeping on it, you may wake up feeling a bit stiff. I'm not exactly sure why this is, but when the initial 'stiffness' is gone you'll never want to sleep on another matress again. When your body becomes used to having the proper support throughout the night, you'll sleep better than ever and wake with less aches and pains. I dread going on trips or staying at friends' houses and sleeping on a 'regular' bed. I dream of my tempurpedic whenever I am away from it!
The only 'downside' about a memory foam matress- they get kind of stiff when the temp drops. This is only a minor, temporary thing- after laying for a few mins the foam warms to your body temp and all is fine.
When I wake up in the morning with the foam shaped to my body and the warmth of it soaking up my body heat- I dont even want to get out of bed. It is the ultimate definition of "comfy".

I don't have a full memory foam mattress, just the topper. It was much cheaper and a way to see how it might work. I really like it, so I'd be willing to bet the full thickness of a mattress would be great.

Yes, I do!!! They are the best thing invented since sliced bread. I broke my lower back several years ago, & I usu.slept sleeping in a recliner, cuz all beds made me hurt so bad, like i had wrestled with a mac truck all night. The memory foam is the only reason I can slleep at night now. Good Luck!!!

I have a memory foam matress as i have disk problems, burst disks and disk displacement in the lumbar region of my spine.
I find my matress (silentnight) is incredible for me, it helps with the getting up in the morning rather than feeling the agony!
it moulds into the contours of your body but when they say "no roll together" that is bull, cos if my bloke moves in the night, i move too (which can be uncomfortable with back problems)
They are rather expensive though - perhaps £500 for the matress alone!

I used to have really bad neck and shoulder problems. Since i bought a memory foam pillow, I have been pain free. I take it everywhere with me, on holiday etc.

They are the best thing since sliced bread. It takes a little time to get used to them not being springy, but once you get used to them, you'll never want to sleep on a conventional mattress ever again!

i have researched this very question, and had varying results, you can try the mattress or topper, before you commit to buying. so you have nothing to loose. so try one for yourself they usually have a 30day trial the price is high but compared to a new matress every couple of years.what price is comfort/relief worth??

Slept on one whilst I was on holiday. There pretty comfy if you're the type of person who sleeps in one position all night, but not if you tend to move about, like me. Because they remember your shape, when you move it's still there, and takes forever to disappear.
