how do you tell if your rod iron fence is really powder coated or just painted?

Your "wrought iron fence" may be upgraded by wire brushing and then spraying with "Ultra flat black"; looks really great and does not negate the value of the antique!

I think it really is "wrought iron fence". If you do a search with that spelling it may be easier to find good information.

Paint will chip off with anything sharp, but powder coating is not easily removed.
