I go to a film high school and lately they have been very strict about who can go into the editing lab. I have portfolios I need to make for college so I decided I need to buy my own computer. But what would be better; a mac with final cut or a pc with vegas? I've only edited on Vegas but I heard the Final Cut Pro can make you portfolio look better. So what should I pick?

Anything to do with creativity, vids, filming, photos, art, music, architecture etc etc the mac is far better and more professional looking. Also less fiddly.

Macs are good for professional graphic artists (and for those wishing to become one). Otherwise, buy a PC. They're much cheaper and there's lots more software available.
