I think it really depends on how many people you know!

But having visited London, I think it would be a little easier to meet or bump into people in NYC because the area where people work tends to be smaller in diameter. And I think people tend to socialize in the same areas over and over, so you run into the same people.

Too many variables!
Depends on your circle of friends and acquaintances, and what they are into. (finance, traveling..???)
The more people you know, the higher the chances of "bumping into them".
You have to take that into consideration before answering that question.
It varies from person to person.
But , if you are from the U.S? Then chances are you'll see them in Manhattan.
