I need reasons to pursuade my parents, I know this sounds weird but
what are some reasons that purple would be better than yellow for a bathroom?

Purple is a magestic color and has always suggested royalty. It is a color that was once only worn by people who had arrived in Society because the cost of dying anything purple was prohibitive. If you had purple, you were royalty or almost.

Keep in mind that purple and yellow are complimentary colors so putting the two together will not only make the other color even stronger, but your bathroom will have a hint of Easter...

There are lots of different colors of purple. I guess you really like purple and don't want a yellow bathroom. I get that. But try and think about what kind of purple you're trying to sell to your parents. Are you going for a deep rich purple popsicle, a lavendar, a lilac, magenta purple, chalky purple grey... It all depends on how you look at it. If you want a dark color and your parents don't, you might want to tone down your choice of purple so that at least you get a color in the family that you like.

Oh. One other argument: Often, people tend to think that if you use a dark color in a small room (such as a small bathroom), the room will appear smaller. That's not true anymore and really, never has been. Of course if you choose a dark color and apply it to all the walls and the ceiling, you'll need to brighten the lighting, that's a given. You might want to think about using the dark color as the dominant one, but using a much lighter color (even one that reflects light like silver) to accessorize. Think silver grey towels, silver cup, toothbrush holder, soap dispenser, etc. The shower curtain could also have a touch of the silver and you could even paint the door moldings and the baseboards all with latex silver paint (found at any hobby store).

Whatever you do, my best advice is to persuade your parents gently. They won't like you getting upset about the paint color. Another thing you might want to do is go to a paint web site and find one that will let you download a photo of your room and then use virtual color swatches to see the room as it would look if you painted it that color. There are some free sites out there for this.

Enjoy... and I LOVE purple... hope you get what you want!

How about just purple trimmings-- curtains, rug, towels, toliet seat cover etc: I will look much prettier!
"Purple" is interesting in fruits and vegetables it is note that these plants have all kinds of health benefits.; while "red" colored plants are good cancer protection....
If you will settle for purple trim your parents may settle for a light lavender wall that goes well with purple trimmings?

purple is a more comfortable color rather than a bright neonish yellow (that's it, right?). Plus baby yellow only works for baby rooms, neon is only good for a party and all other shades just don't work. just one thing, your dad probably won't agree...

purple and reddish tones are bold, exciting colors which stimulate movement. They are especially suitable for work areas.
