If your talkin about yahoo pool you must of committed some other kind of foul other than a scratch. You most likely didn't hit your ball first. Thats about all it could be on yahoo pool because they don't play by the correct rules.

That's why it's important to decide on what rules you are going to use before you play. For example in most traditional games it's a foul if the cue ball makes contact with an object ball but neither ball touches a cushion. 99% of people you meet in a bar to play pool dont know this. Also fouls gnerally result in a ball-in-hand, meaning you get the ball anywhere you want. Try that in a bar and you'll get knocked out. Everyone plays where you have to put in in the "kitchen."

Does this help?

Assuming that it was under BCA rules......you probably were not focused on the game and committed a "foul" and he thus had the right to pick up the cue ball and move it where he wanted to.....did you not ask him why?........no, you didn't because you are here asking this question......bet you that you fouled and you either were not paying attention or you just don't know the rules..........go rack the balls!!!.....you lost!!

Check out the rules pal! You may have been in a game that was using a time clock. Meaning you have only so long to make your shot just like the moves in a chessmatch.

In some games depending on the rules used if you accidentally or purposefully hit their ball to your advantage, then they can move the cue. Example: You are solids and you use one of his stripes to hit your ball in the pocket, he can move the cue.
