Could you please suggest things that would be of interest to him and grabs his attention?

He is the son of a distant relative and I rarely see them, and barely know them, so I can't decide what to get him as I have already selected a present for his younger (normal) brother .

Get him something cuddly and warm. Not a whole lot will grab his attention at that age anyway. I am speaking from experience because my granddaughter has Down Syndrome and she is now 16. Her favorite thing is to watch video movies. You might think of that for him as well. Perhaps something with music, consider the Baby Einstein and Baby Mozart videos and also (Yuk) Barney. They love to watch things and are not able always to handle things that normal 4-year-olds can handle. I have wasted to much money on presents for my granddaughter that she liked for about one hour and then went back to watching movies.

Anything that has to do with art is really good and stimulating for children of down syndrome. Teddy bears, or even a gift card for the build a bear workshop. Good luck.
