sorry to have worded my ? poorly - I don't think anyone needs to not be allowed in the forum, and yes, I forgot the spirituality part of the heading. Just trying to open some dialogue.

Because it's a forum "about religion and spirituality" and these topics interest atheists and agnostics too. Primarily because many of them used to be very devout in one religion or another (and are surrounded by devout christians in their family/friends/culture).

This question has been asked before. You see, the subcatagories are divided up and this one is Religion & Spirituality. If a person is non-religious, then they are people with the absense of Religion & Spirituality. Therefore, they have a right to be in the forum. It is the same as the Etiquiette subcatagory. Most questions are not directed towards people with correct manners, nor are they about people with correct manners, nor are they asked by people with correct manners. They are asked by people with the ABSENCE of correct manners. Therefore, they fit the catagory.

Another way to look at it is that atheism and agnosticism are religious beliefs. I guess that shows how much you know about religion.

Mainly 'just out of curiosity' I never fail to marvel at all the different answers from the same religious group on any 'standard ' type of question, and especially the replies from the Christian community, I suppose it started out as a quest for knowledge or to get a religious view point, but I'm afraid it has now degenerated into a form of entertainment, I must try to desist! But it really is difficult.

Almost any one with the least interest in religous /spiritual things can be in these forums. (although ALL of us have a spiritual side to us - even the atheists and agnostics) - even the belief that there is no God, is STILL a belief.

But depends on who would be 'religious' .. ?

Someone who believes in an organised, institutional religion?

Someone who believes in God?

Someone with just simple personal beliefs like 'obey your parents', 'work hard', be on time' ..?

More than likely, just people who are curious ..

I don't understand why this question always comes up. You can be interested in something without actually believing in it or being a member of it. Do the scholars who study Greek mythology for a living worship Zeus every day?

Religion is an interesting subject and we have opinions on it, regardless of whether or not we're religious.

As long as Christianity, as well as several of the other "ultimate truths", have as their end and gleefully sought after goal, the END OF THE WORLD, and as long as they believe that their rights are being violated if they are denied the opportunity to use the coercive power of the state to shove their god down every ones throat, you will have to put up with us being in your face. Why should we abandon a forum where we can let you know that you will not be allowed to carry out the silly "End Times" rubbish that you seem to forget would include the rest of us.

Because it's a free country. And because I am spiritual, even if I am not religious. This isn't just the 'religion' forum.

R&S doesn't mean only the ones who subscribe to your favorite religious flavor. Anyone who is interested in R&S, whether they believe any or none of the topics, can participate. Non-believers can still be interested in expanding their world views to understand where the rest of the lemmings get their viewpoints.

To offer another view of religious opinions. What good is a discussion if everyone has a similar view?

The section is titled "Religion & Spirituality". It's possible to be spritual without being religious (even if there is no god, I want to be a good person).
