For those who are hiring wedding planners or did, how much did you pay? Did they charge a percentage of your budget, if so what percentage?
Also what was/is the best and worst thing about hiring a planner?

Depends on the planner, some charge a flat rate, some give packages of services, some charge 10-20% of the wedding bill.

The rate for hiring a wedding planner can vary greatly depending on your location and her level of expertise. Some charge flat fees while others charge a percentage of your wedding costs. It all depends on how eleaborate the wedding is going to be. Remember, you get what you pay for. Ask other brides in your area what they have spent and be sure to get referrals from the planners you interview.
The best thing about hiring a planner is that you will have less stress because the planner wil be doing most of the "footwork". The worst thing is probably the cost involved, but, it can also be tough if you are a control freak.

I am a wedding planner & I charge by what your needs are from me & your needs for your wedding. Also, have different packages that you can choose from. Every planner is different, the way I charge may be different from the way another planner charges! You just have to choose which way is best for you!
