I get the shakes, mood swings, and upset stomach. I try to wait a while before drinking it, but to no avail. I love the taste and all the antioxodants in it too lol.

I love coffee too and get similar reactions and a few others. Decaf doesn't work for me. It isn't the caffeine that's the problem; it's the coffee. I finally had to give it up. I drink tea now with no ill effects even if it's loaded with caffeine. No it's not the same and it took me a while to get used to it. Now I'm as addicted to tea as I used to be to coffee. Once in a great while on a special occasion I'll have a cafe latte and enjoy it enormously. The milk (real, not nonfat) seems to help protect the stomach. But coffee is no longer my daily beverage of choice. I know this isn't the answer you want but your body is telling you something. You would do well to listen to it.

I love a cup of coffee in the morning, but if I don't eat first I get the shakes, and everything too...just have something to eat first, or try decaf.

Mix your regular coffee grounds with decaf grounds (1:1).

In the grounds, shake some cinnamon, put a few drops of vanilla extract to cover the nasty taste of decaf.

Add a flavored creamer, if you choose.

I switched to drinking coffee with lunch- I just can't take it in the mornings- and never on an empty stomach.
