get him a couple of cd's he likes it will show him you are taking an interest in him and will probably impress him

Aftershave will be fine. We apreciate that. Alternatively a DVD or CD of something you know he hasn't got.
Sorry, has to be said but you can't go wrong with a nice pair of scanties. Although stay clear of Ann Summers; we're not all like that!

Dinner at a romantic restaurant, a dozen red roses (yes, guys love flowers too), and a cd of his favorite band or artist. This would be both unique, personal and memorable.
