One argument I've heard from conservatives time and time again is that illegal immigrants are given unfair advantages such as free/reduced tuition, driver licenses, etc. But when most illegals work hard for a ridiculous wage and generally receive no education, wouldn't you say they deserve an extra "push"?

Perhaps I didn't phrase the question right. Should immigration restrictions be abolished?

Yes, I know their children can receive benefits, but most of them would still be impoverished and would still need help. But I understand how being selfless is a problem for a lot of conservatives.

Think of what would happen if tighter restrcitions were actually enforced. Who's working in the fields for practically nothing? What will happen when those people are deported?

Immigration resrictions should apply, but countries like Mexico, UK, Canada, Austraila the requirement should be payment of $2000 bond, and $10,000 loan or cash on hand to stay to apply for work. Exemption would apply if the person gotten a offical job offer from a employer and the $10,000 cash requirement be wavied. The critera would be education equilvant to a HS diploma, and a automated test be given in basic subjects to ensure they are at least HS diploma level or higher. First, abolish any ownership of citizenship for anchor babies period, and 3% fee on all cash transfers outside the USA to pay for people immigration officals to remove people not authorized to be in the Untied States. Finally, the goverment might as well profit off immigration anyways charge a fee of $2000 dollars to enter the country to a resricted set of countries. Immigration outside Ango-or Latino would have to be Master Degree or highe ,and write a letter to the goverment stating how they will make America a wealther place. We cant take in the world, and citizenship should be only allowed if the person works in the country for 10 years, and does not commit a felony. Immigration policy in Lala Land right now we only allow 50,000 from Mexico with the green card system What a joke???? I feel were wasting time on chasing migrants from Mexico, and not deporting people from countries like Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia people want to kill us.

Ha! When our country's policy is to let in legally 50% plus more iimmigrants from Mexico and Central and South America, and another 30 million or so are here illegally and counting ...do you think there is any REAL LIMITATION on immigration.
What you see happening NOW, is what you suggest should be. IF you think the current situation is acceptable, then you have your answer.
Qualitatively in the present and potentially for the future for America, given what is at hand makes me feel your suggestion for what "they" deserve is off the deep end, assuming you don't want America to end up like Mexico is currently. Ignorance, poverty, criminality, corruption etc. will be their gift to us for allowing them to reside here and live as they choose. Grunt labor for cheap, is not worth that to me personally.

Actually the illegals children *do* receive an education, and food stamps, and HRS services and etc.... So *YES* there should be restrictions on immigration.... which wouldn't have to be nearly so restrictive if the illegals would go home.

There ARE restrictions on immigration. The problem is that they are not properly enforced.
We don't need more border security, we need to revamp the immigration bureaucracy. Why is it that the Dept of Agriculture can find one cow with mad cow disease out of millions of cows, but we can't track immigrants in this country? Perhaps someone else needs to take the lead.

No, no country can survive a completely unrestricted immigration policy - rich countries would be overwhelmed as the poor migrated, and the poor countries would have their ailing economies wrecked as the country emptied of any skilled labor.
And once again you confuse ILLEGAL and LEGAL status. Illegal aliens are simply criminals and are not welcome in America. I don't care about the benefits issues, or the job issues, THEY BROKE THE LAW and deserve to be punished.
Properly controlled legal immigration is a benefit to our society; criminals drag us down.

Yes.
The American people MUST DEMAND NOW that the Federal Government enforce the laws already on the books.
They created this mess by not enforcing laws.
American People Must now Stand Up and Demand the government ENFORCE THE LAWS!

There are restrictions on immigration. What people who are concerned about this complain about are those who are here ILLEGALLY, not the ones who go through the immigration process.
What part of ILLEGAL is giving you trouble?

Conservatives are wrong until there's almost nothing left of us to conserve. Then we wonder where all of our resources went.
We've shared everything we had with others, and the whole lot of us are barely worth bothering to flush down the toilet.
We have to draw lines.
The sign of the times is that,
It's TIME!

Good question. But most conservatives cannot see past their anger rationally enough to give a thought to other aspects or opinions that are not the same as theirs. Anyone disagreeing has to be wrong, right?!
