my bloke has just txt at the last minuite his mom is ill i now that but he could see me after visiting her! he knows i will not say anythin about cancelling on me when its for a reason such as this could he sink so low to use his poor mother as a excuse?

Have you thought that it may be that after visiting his mother in hospital he may not be in the mood for going on a date?
It is emotionally draining for most people to see love ones in pain or ill.
Is there any reason you could think of that he would not want to see you?
If the answer is no, give the guy a break and then ask him how his mum is.

I've used the excuse of
'sorry luvvah, can't see you tonight as my mother is visiting me in hospital!!!'
haha!
boy did we laugh,
well after I did get out of hospital after she put me there with the assistance of her trusty rollin pin!
mother dearest doesn't like her!
it does sound very lame.
men do use very easy found out excuses,
we also need our own space from time to time.

If he's ever given you doubt to distrust him, then maybe. But if he's usually honest and hasn't pulled this sort of thing before, then I'd trust him.
If you really want to know, call the hospital, or go there and see if she really is sick. If she is, he might appreciate having you there to help him cope.

The real one would have an understanding. I had a problem like this with a friend and she just stopped being my friend just becaus I had to be with my relative who just underwent a serious operation. I do not regret this friend leaving me, she was not worth to be my friend, she was just an aquaintance.

Go visit her yourself. It's a good way to earn his respect and help the mom too. It's his mom so don't say anything about your doubts to him.

If you know his mum is ill give the guy a break! be glad you've found someone who cares about his family.
(if you dont feel you trust him maybe he's not the one for you)

if his mom was really sick, he is entitled to use this excuse. on your part you could have ask if he needed anything or you could have went to the hospital to visit him and his mom
