I've always used Desitin or A&D ointment (clear gel). I was given the A&D ointment to use on my son's circumsicion and it says on the tube it can be used on burns so that may be your best bet. I would definitly see a doctor though because that sounds like one intense rash. The sooner you can get help the better.

My son had a horrible diaper rash that sounds quite similar, my son was ill with diarehia for over 2 weeks and between that and the meidcation from the doctor his diaper rash was the worst I had ever seen, after trying several different remedies and creams I found what worked the best is Gerber Diaper Rash ointment with oatmeal, it seems to be the only cream that didnt burn the open areas of the rash. I also made sure not to rub the area when wiping but rather pat slowly and gently. Also make sure that the area is kept dry, change your daughter often. I hope you have as much success with the ointment as I did. Even after the rash disappears I recommend using alot of vaseline to provide a barier on her skin as it may be sensitive for a long time.
Hope this helps!

It sounds like a yeast infection which is very painful. If it's as bad as it sounds, I would take her in to the E.R. tonight. Not because it's life threatening, but just to make her feel better A.S.A.P. If that is not an option, then I would definitely take her in to her doctor as soon as you can. This is a common side effect with children after being on antibiotics. In the meantime, try giving her some "no diaper" time to air out her bum and put diaper rash cream on her. You poor thing, she's probably screaming! Best of Luck!

The antibiotics might have caused a yeast infection. Oh I know how bad that hurts for her I'm sure...An over the counter lotrimin cream will clear it up. For regular diaper rashes though, I always use a 1-2 bunch of bag balm and cornstarch powder...
But, more than likely it's a combination of the diarrhea, and the antibiotics...yeast infections are pretty common...
Good luck!

Please don't wait until tomorrow!!
That is an awful allergic reaction I've seen before with my grandson. Call your doctor or take her to an urgent care facility. They can help with a stronger topical and suggest diet changes. If you can't afford that then at least go ask your pharmacist. He can often suggest changes in medication that will help your child and still fight what the anitbiotics are being subscribed for. He knows the interactions of the drugs and side effects.
He ALSO knows how to get in touch with your doctor for emergencies when no one else can... usually.
Bottom line is don't wait!!

I would call her Dr and even consider taking her in to an Urgent Clinic or ER, sounds like she may be having a reaction to the antibiotics.

When my daughter was a baby she had bad diaper rash too.. My brother took her for a day and he took leaves of his aloe plant and opened them and then layed them on her bottom so that the slimy part was on the rash. when he brought her back the rash was almost gone... you can also buy aloe jell and use that. Hang in there!
