I'd say Quakers, as they were always vocally against slavery and instrumental to abolition. On the other hand, I find it perverse that black folks let the baptists take hold.

Quakers, yes. Maybe also Unity and the Unitarians (those are two different denominations). But here's another one you might not have guessed: the Strangite Mormons. They were ordaining African-Americans as early as the 1840s. This group broke off from mainstream Mormons (the Salt Lake City LDS group) in the 1800s. They have, for a predominantly white denomination, a fairly good record of race relations.

I don't know if I can comment on specific denominations but given the history of the 20th century, France was definitely the best country to live in if you were black. Particularly if you were a black musician. Many didn't return.

Quakers are probably the best Chrsitians...period. But that ain't sayin' much...now that I think about it.
