Your choice but having serves with officers in all 3 services many of them Jet pilots and my uncle retired as a colonel & pilot in the USAF being a tough SOB isn't nearly enough.

Being a pilot and indeed being an officer has more to do with intelligence, ability to think for yourself, integrty and putting the needs of your soldiers (sailors, marines, airmen) ahead of your own.

Get that degree and give it a shot. A friend of mine took me up in the F-15 Eagle trainer once and it was one of the times of my life.

Good luck on which ever service you select.

Well not everyone gets to be a pilot. You have to pass the school they put you in IF you qualify for that.

You might have your wings clipped. So keep that in mind. If so, they don't let you out. You will have to serve the remainder of your enlistment doing something else.

I joined with the intention of being an Air Traffic Controller. I flunked the school and they put me on a ship in the weapons dept. Where I put together bombs!

The Marines are tough guys. If you are not the tough type, you will want to go into the other branches.

In the Navy you will have to land on ships. Thats very tricky. You got to be really good to do that.

Most people prefer the Air Force.

Good luck man. I am really proud of you guys.

Probably the Air Force has the best odds. You need to be really tight though. If you want to fly rotary wing aircraft then Army or Marines has the best odds. You generally will need to be an officer, so you will need a college degree. The only exception that I know of is Warrant Officers flying choppers in the Army.

I'm in the marines and i work on the f-18. it probably wont be around that much longer since the navy has the super hornet and they are work on the jsf. parts are getting hard to find. since i have been in I've been to japan, Australia, uae, Italy, Bahrain, and Spain. its been a blast. was able to buy a house in south Carolina and a few old cars to fix up.

Well it depends on what you would like to fly first of all. and how you would be deployed. The Navy is mostly related from aircraft carriers.
here is the list of Air Force Aircraft -http://www.af.mil/factsheets/factsheet.asp?fsID=70 (use this link and they are all on the right side.)
The marines are usually associated with helicopters.
and this is the list of Navy Aircraft -
http://www.navy.mil/navydata/fact.asp

But in my opinion, i would probably go with the navy

The first thing you should probably look at is getting a BS degree with a GPA of 3.6 or better. (not easily done)
Then you might stand a chance along side the other 1,000 collage grads applying for one pilots slot.

Definately go navy. Advancement in the navy is wide open right now... advancing in the air force sucks right now. More money is a good thing

Navy. Better promotion rate and you'll be better than any Air Force pilot.

You should go talk to the recruiters of each to see if you qualify. Just wanted to be a pilot may not be enough.
Best of luck to you.

depends on what you want to fly. Also, depends on what kind of military life-style you want. Do you want to be among the few and the proud? and have a real sense of brotherhood? or be apart of the most advanced military branch? or, be on a ship?
