Isn't this prevelant attitude itself extremely racist and discriminatory toward whites, how are race relations ever expected to honestly make any kind of headway fight racism with racism?!? or reverse discrimination? I think being an educated poor white male that current attitudes and "politcal correctness" on racism only breed more hate and discontent, you don't treat a minor cut with an amputation! I understand americans of african descent have a higher standard of living in america then thier racial counterparts anywhere else in the world! One could look at this and say slavery was the best way for africans to achieve thier highest standard of living? The pendulum always goes way to far the other way!

You can thank MLK, the NAACP, the ACLU, Al Sharpton, Jessie Jackson, and all the politicians that set up the laws so minorities can freeload. All the above are ripping off their own race, making "mountians out of Mouse Turds", and in general keeping things racially stirred up.

Say a hurricane is about to destroy the city you live in. Two questions:
What would you do?
What would you do if you were black?

Sadly, the two questions don't have the same answer.

To the first: Most of us would take our families out of that city quickly to
protect them from danger. Then, able-bodied men would return to help others
in need, as wives and others cared for children, elderly, infirm and the
like.

For better or worse, Hurricane Katrina has told us the answer to the second
question. If you're black and a hurricane is about to destroy your city,
then you'll probably wait for the government to save you.

This was not always the case. Prior to 40 years ago, such a pathetic
performance by the black community in a time of crisis would have been
inconceivable. The first response would have come from black men. They would
take care of their families, bring them to safety, and then help the rest of
the community. Then local government would come in.

No longer. When 75 percent of New Orleans residents had left the city, it
was primarily immoral, welfare-pampered blacks that stayed behind and waited for the government to bail them out. This, as we know, did not turn out good results.

Enter Jesse Jackson and Louis Farrakhan. Jackson and Farrakhan laid blame on "racist" President Bush. Farrakhan actually proposed the idea that the
government blew up a levee so as to kill blacks and save whites. The two
demanded massive governmental spending to rebuild New Orleans, above and
beyond the federal government's proposed $60 billion. Not only that, these
two were positioning themselves as the gatekeepers to supervise the
dispersion of funds. Perfect: Two of the most dishonest elite blacks in
America, "overseeing" billions of dollars. I wonder where that money will
end up.

Of course, if these two were really serious about laying blame on
government, they should blame the local one. Responsibility to perform –
legally and practically – fell first on the mayor of New Orleans. We are now
all familiar with Mayor Ray Nagin – the black Democrat who likes to yell at
President Bush for failing to do Nagin's job. The facts, unfortunately, do
not support Nagin's wailing. As the Washington Times puts it, "recent
reports show [Nagin] failed to follow through on his own city's
emergency-response plan, which acknowledged that thousands of the city's
poorest residents would have no way to evacuate the city."

One wonders how there was "no way" for these people to evacuate the city. We have photographic evidence telling us otherwise. You've probably seen it by now – the photo showing 2,000 parked school buses, unused and underwater. How much planning does it require to put people on a bus and leave town, Mayor Nagin?

Instead of doing the obvious, Mayor Nagin (with no positive contribution
from Democratic Gov. Kathleen Blanco, the other major leader vested with
responsibility to address the hurricane disaster) loaded remaining New
Orleans residents into the Superdome and the city's convention center. We
know how that plan turned out.

About five years ago, in a debate before the National Association of Black
Journalists, I stated that if whites were to just leave the United States
and let blacks run the country, they would turn America into a ghetto within
10 years. The audience, shall we say, disagreed with me strongly. Now I have
to disagree with me. I gave blacks too much credit. It took a mere three
days for blacks to turn the Superdome and the convention center into
ghettos, rampant with theft, rape and murder.

President Bush is not to blame for the rampant immorality of blacks. Had New Orleans' black community taken action, most would have been out of harm's way. But most were too lazy, immoral and trifling to do anything productive for themselves.

All Americans must tell blacks this truth. It was blacks' moral poverty –
not their material poverty – that cost them dearly in New Orleans.
Farrakhan, Jackson, and other race hustlers are to be repudiated – they will
only perpetuate this problem by stirring up hatred and applauding moral
corruption. New Orleans, to the extent it is to be rebuilt, should be remade into a dependency-free, morally strong city where corruption is opposed and success is applauded. Blacks are obligated to help themselves and not depend on the government to care for them. We are all obligated to tell them so.

Whites of every type get branded as racists just for being white, not for being loud and proud. I've been nicely trying to explain to people on here that racism will never be gone as long as it's okay to discriminate against whites, but I'm usually ignored completely or given many thumbs down. Apparently it's not PC to even mention racism against whites. I've been called a racist for doing so.

I've seen more 'in your face' racism directed at whites than all other races combined. That's not even taking into account all the legal ways one can discriminate against whites.

You already know the answer. There is a double standard against whites in this country that's sickening. Anything any other race does, if whites do it they're suddenly racist. And it's not reverse-discrimination, it's simply discrimination. Blacks have many things especially for their race and no other. Organizations (NAACP), Magazines (JET, Ebony), TV Stations (BET), Radio Stations, College Funds (NNCF), Clothing Lines (FUBU - For Us By Us). Imagine whites trying to start up any of these for whites only? They would be branded a racist organization and shut down! Also take into account what other races can call us but we can't speak a negative word against them! When they say anything it's freedom of speech when we say it it's racism! Take Michael Richards for example (Kramer). I realize he said negative comments first, however, they did respond with calling him racist terms as well and not one news program has ridiculed them for that! Double standard loud and clear. It's ok for anyone to call whites whatever they want but if we call them something we are racists. Well, I'm proud of my race and they can call me whatever they want.

I am sick of this crap as well!!! I think white people need to stop appologizing for stuff they didnt do. For instance, I was not alive during the days of slavery, so therefore I am not responsible for it! I was not alive during the days the nazis ruled Germany, so therefore I am not responsible for the holocaust. I will never take responsibility for choices people made way before I was alive. Being white does not make me responsible, being German, does not make me responsible. I do not see anyone else appologizing for what their ancesters did so why should white people? Enough is enough! All this does is breed racism and hatefull feelings towards the groups who expect the ridiculous appologies.

Its funny, a long time ago, when i was in college, there were Black student unions, Indian student unions, Asian student unions and Gay/lesiban student unions. So me and a friend approached the dean about starting a white student union. The man laughed all the way down the hallway as he said no. I really didn't want to start one, but i just wanted to see what would happen.

I know. If you're white, you're racist. Isn't that a racist stereotype? People love double standards.
I hear a lot of people say hatred for white people comes from European's "take over" of America, the fact that they owned slaves, and because they don't want to accept illegal immigrants in their country(people tend to forget not all Americans are white.)
Was it wrong of all people(and animals), since the beginning of time, to fight to aquire territory? Or was it only wrong when Europeans did it?
Was it wrong of people to own slaves? Or is it only wrong when Europeans did?
I know illegal immigrants come from all over, but 80% of them come from Mexico(who has very strict immigration laws.) So.... is it wrong that Mexico won't accept illegals south of their border, or only that Americans won't?

Yes, it's a racist attitude. Folks who have never lived in the hard days of slavery, deem to judge folks who are white, because of the history of their ancestor's. They have not suffered, as their forefathers have, nor have we committed astrocities towards them, or their kinfolk.
America needed time to learn right and wrong, just like any other new Nation had to do. American's didn't start slavery, or slave trade. Europe did that, and white's come from Europe.
Mexican's are just angry we kicked their buns in the mexican-American war, when they had to cede California, and New Mexico to us at their loss, so will use the race card to make themselves feel better about being losers. Deny, deny, deny the truth, for them!
There doesn't seem much to do about it, so the best thing to do, in my opinion, is to smile and wave at them, to p i s s them off. You can laugh at them at your leisure! LOL

thanks for asking this question, it is of much importance to me and I am sure a lot of others as well, and you are certainly right , black is beautiful , tan is grand but white is sh,, as far as other races are concerned, and our stupid P.C. crowd, Katha and john if you are not proud of being white it is probable because you are not, when I look at the world and see the condition of all of the others I am damned proud to be white and the others sure want to be, if not why do they bleach their skin? bleach their hair?if they can afford it they even get plastic surgery to change their features, Michael Jackson for one, but as you say you are a racist , bigot sometimes worse if you are proud to be white . but, then I don't give a damn what the think , I don't owe them anything , not even the welfare they are getting.

No one should be proud to be one race or the other. It indicates that they believe their race is superior, regardless of what anyone says. Personally , I am repelled by anyone who says 'I'm _____ and I'm proud.'

Racism will never be eradicated unless and until we embrace our similarities, and ignore our differences. This '_____ and proud' crap is divisive.
