"why does everyone laugh at people wearing hair rollers"?

I would not laugh and would probably encourage her.
I sometimes go out in my rollers if i have forgotten something and need to pick it up at the shops.

It takes a lot of time and effort to put rollers neatly into my hair and therefore I would rather put a scarf over them and just go about my business until my hair dries. anyway I don't think that the sight of a woman wearing rollers will ever hurt anybody

If I saw a woman in rollers I would probably think that theshe was looking after her hair and would reckon that her hair will look great when she removes them to go out that night

because rollers are mean to be used in the house not outside so when people go out like that they look pretty funny.

because most people dont walk around with them in so when they see it..its sort of new, and most people laugh at things that are new or "weird"...and i guess most people associate hair rollers with an old person

I guess because rollers are associated with older women you know like grandma's and stuff..

Probably because they are so out of date. Not saying that they are no longer used but they should only be used at home or in a salon. It's really unattractive.
