Me and my daughter(Rachel) are very close.......My daughter is 13, in the 7th grade and has been wearing make up since she was 9. And I dont mean lip gloss...i mean eye liner & mascra. My daughter came home from school last week and told me this.....Her boyfriend (Josh) grabbed her but, she has a F in science, She figured out that she was popular, a boy in her class called her sexy, Rachel got sentto the office for letting Josh give her a piggy back ride up the hill, Rachel and Josh got caught making out in gym class. Some of her friends that are guys were planning to kill this one guy because he touched one of the boys girlfriends butt. Do you think my daughter is growing up to fast?

I am 13 years old also. I understand that people my age and your daughters age should have some freedom to do as they want & have a boyfriend, etc. But I am in the 8th grade and I can't stand eyeliner, and 9 is way to young to wear makeup. Now that she is 13 thought, i would let her wear makeup now. As far as getting F's, that is NOT good. School is hard, but not that hard. She seems to be worrying about things that arent actually as important as she thinks. Have you grounded her yet for the F? My parents would dissown me. It is always a great thing to have a parent that is not too strict but i think if you are not strict about her grades now, you will regret it later and so will she. I think she may be growing up to fast (a little bit), but you should not think of her as growing up to fast because of what she tells you about school. Most kids DON'T tell their mom that kind of stuff, and I think that that is cool that she thinks of you as someone she can tell stuff to. She sounds like a girl who can handle the things that happen at school.

Way too fast I would say. She should not have been wearing make-up at the age of 9, what happened to kids being kids? Too many kids are "little adults" now. I would set some rules and have more communication with the school/teachers regarding her grades and what's going at school. If you are the one buying her clothing/make-up, stop buying the make-up and buy clothes that are more conservative not inappropriate. Keep tabs on who her friends are and don't give the opportunities for her to be alone with boys!

I think your daughter is growing up too fast, i'm 15 and just started wearing make up this year. This is also common though in 7th grade for popular girls to act like this. You should just talk to her about this and be the parent before she gets into more trouble. Put your foot down and make some rules for her. Also make sure that she does better in school and help her with her homework or tell her that she should ask for help from her teachers. Don't let her fail school.

No,.. but I think you are just catching up to what she is doing.

It's posible she is doing worse then what you hear.

Why is she only in the 7th grade?

Added: BTW it's normal for girls to have trouble with Math and SUCK at Science. There may not be anything that can be done for her to understand Science any better.

ADDED2: Just so you know ALOT of people are INREADING what you are saying. They think you may have started this at 7 years old and are talking about a 9 year old or they only noticed pieces of you said and they think you said she is 9 years old right now and actting this way right now. Read jb#1fan's answer on Page 2 if you don't believe me [they added a not]. And you still haven't answered me...
WHY IS SHE IN 7th GRADE?
Some people that have read thoroughly are assumeing you made a typo (meant 9th grade) and others think you said you started things when she was in 9th grade instead of 9 years old.

TO THE PEOPLE READING THIS: Double check this person's Questions and Answers. This appears to be the daughter's account.

Yes! Your daughter was 9 when she started wearing makeup? What happened to innocense? What kind of image do you think she projected at 9, wearing make-up? That's in the past, now she's 13 and making out in the gym with a boy! Is it really a surprise to you? Please don't come back here in 2 years asking "What do I do now that my daughter is 15 and pregnant!"

Makeup isn't an issue, but the rest... Yeah. Way to fast. She's 13, she has a boyfriend...he grabbed her but...they make-out... She is too young to even have a boyfriend! You need to talk to her before she becomes a 14 year old mother. And death threats? come on! People are so immature! Jeez...

She is certainly speeding. I mean, she's just a child, but she's also becoming a young woman. So there has to be a limit somewhere. 13 seems very young to me.
I do wonder why a 9 year old would need make up?
Can't children be children no more?

Too fast. See, Im 13 years old, and I only wear lip gloss, never had a boyfriend, had never been to a party, the worst grade I've gotton was an D and look at me, I'm a alegebra honors advance student. You should monitor your daughter more often

Yes why cannot girls just have fun? It is okay for girls and boysto be friends but not too friendly. All sorts of things could happen at her age like pregnancy which you would not want. You need have a tighter rein on your daughterbefore things spiral out of control. It is good that you are friends but you also need to be amum first and lay down guidelines.
