You two may not be made for one another. You like cats, he may die from them. Not a good mix. Find another mate. Life is a long time.

If you're thinking of moving in with him or vice-versa, you should definetly talk about this cat situation. I'm sure if you explain to him how you feel about cats, he'll be more than happy to try to understand and comply. I'm the same way because I simply can not live without my animals. Once you've explained to him your standing point with cats, ask him if he would be willing to take allergy medicines for the cause. However, make sure to ask him exactly how allergic he is- he could have anywhere between a minor allergy, to a serious allergy. Hopefully, his allergies won't be too serious, and you'll be able to keep your cats.
A reliable pet-allergy medicine is Zyrtec. Another good idea would be to try using AllerpetC, which is an odor-free spray which you can use around the house that will help lower the risk of an allergic reaction with cats. Allergic reactions caused by cats is not because of the length of their fur, but because of their dander. Vacuuming your carpets (if you have any) will also help. Also, including an air purifier in your AC system, or by plugging one in, will help tremedously. There are all sorts of brands for these air purifiers, including Sharper Image, Honeywell, HEPA Austin Air, and Bionaire.
Good Luck! =]

Well the first thing you have to consider is how does he feel about your cats? He might make you choose between him or the cats. If he has no problem with the cats then I would talk to him to see if he has any limitations about where they can and cannot go. Then I would see if he were willing to be put onto an allergy medicine. My ex was like that; not allergic but he didn't like cats and I have a cat so it was a real struggle between the two.

placed your son up for adoption. Cats and cat enthusiasts!!! Cats might want to correctly be the most negative animal a human has ever taken in and cat enthusiasts are too blind or stupid to work out it. Your situation is truly straight forward. Is the cat or your son extra substantial. answer that query and also you've all of it taken care of out. And NO, probability is someone will develop into extra tender as time is going by. CATS, my god, i'd truly have a moose, 2 brown bears and a highway grader in my the front room than a damn cat everywhere contained in the community. My oldest daughter is an really fantastic human being in another remember, yet cats. She has allergies and four cats and would't make sure out why she has worry controlling the allergies. you receives no sympathy and no diplomatic speech from me. purely you could make sure out it really is extra substantial. EDIT: of direction you could continually placed your son on drugs. it really is a impressive element to do to a baby yet what the heck, who cares if he's a pin cushion, has to pop pills each and every couple of hours and carry an inhaler, as long as your daughter has her damn cat. you ought to visual reveal unit Forrest Gump, there is an really good line that seems perfect right here, and no it isn't the single about a field of candies.

It all depends on how bad his allergy's are. Allergy medicines don't work that well on people that are really allergic to cats or dogs. And allergy shots don't work on animals at all. I know it is a horrible decision to make and I wouldn't ever want to have to make it, but who do you wanna marry your cats or your boyfriend?
I am deathly allergic to cats too, and have tried everything believe me. The only thing that might help is if you don't let your cats in your bedroom at all. Remember it takes 3 months for the cat dander to dissipate after cats being in there.
I went through 3 different rounds of allergy shots over the years, and trust me there aren't' any for animals I have asked. Only for environmental

The problem isn't "him or the cats," it's how he feels about cats.
Lots of people who have cat dander allergies LOVE cats. How does he feel? Does he like them? If he does, then he will be more than willing to get allergy medicine so you can have your cats.
Is he a cat-hater? If he is, well, allergies or not, he will never be happy with cats.
I know how you feel. I'm a cat lover (we have three, but I'd have a house FULL if I could) and my husband disliked animals. I tried to live without my beloved cats but I just couldn't. He eventually gave in, but HE was never happy.

My husband is terribly allergic to cats, but he loves them. Allergy medicines work differently from individual to individual. It might take a few tries to find one that works best for your BF.
For my hubby, he uses a nasal mist, twice a day that has been generic for so long that I forget the brand name. The generic name is Fluticasone Propionate. We also keep an air purifier on his nightstand. He can enjoy the cats; they can even sleep with him; and he has no problems. What works for one allergy sufferer many not work for another. I notice there are a lot of posts, so I hope you get to see this one.
You can also do your part to help the situation by vacuuming daily with a vacuum that has a HEPA filter, combing your cats daily, and wiping them down with a damp facecloth. People who are allergic to cats, are really allergic to the cat's saliva that dries on their fur after they groom themselves. I think if he is willing to try, and you are willing to do your part, you might be able to have the best of both worlds.

Hi I had a similar problem with my bf. I have a noisy little cocker spaniel named Mooga. I know Mooga is the worst behaved dog totally spoiled, but when I moved in my bf dealt with it and we're even getting a cat for christmas. At first it was hard for him. He could barely breath and he thought dogs well all pets where disgusting vile creatures that should be banished to the backyard, but he got over it and actually built up a tolerance to the the dog. I know cats shed a lot and his a clean guy always with the vaccum and dusting, I don't know how he'll hand the cat hair.

Kiss your boyfriend goodbye if you cannot live without your cats because his allergies are going to make him miserable with your cats around.
I am allergies to cats. I get a stopped up nose but I also break out in hives if I touch cat hair. There is no allergy medicine that I can take that will help me.
Cat allergies are very serious so please do not put the guy through this and find another man.

A commitment to a pet is a life commitment. They trust you to keep them safe and keep them in a home.
The boyfriend, if he cares about YOU, will never make you give up your cats - they are a large part of who you are as a person.
He can see an allergist and get serious about finding a way to live with your cats comfortably. If he won't do that, he isn't worth it. If you give them up, you will resent him for it deep down. And you will always wonder if they are okay.
People should never dump their animals for a potential relationship - that may or may not be forever. In your animal's mind you ARE forever. Don't give them the worst surprise they will ever know.....

Being asthmatic, I can tell you I empathize with him... I am deathly allergic to cats. There really is nothing you can do to PREVENT an allergic reaction bi taking medicine, especially if you are asthmatic, but you can however treat the symptoms only.
I would suggest that you spend all your time at his house from now on unless you and he like emergency rooms. The fact you have so many cats to me shows you are insecure without them... if you plan on having a real, steady, monogamous relationship, you will have to cut the cord so to speak with so many felines. Most guys don't tolerate more than one or two if that, so if you want to move ahead with your life with HUMAN realtionships, you are going to have to let go.
People who usually have a ton of pets have something missing in their lives... is your BF that ingredient that has been missing in yours? If so, you will have to start weening yourself away from your cat harem bi making sure they're adopted to good homes.
I'm sure cat lovers will hate me for saying this, but really how many pets does one need? I had two female yellow labs and that was plenty. I have no idea as to how many you consider "covered," but you at least admit you have too many in that sentence. it's time for you to live your life for YOU, not the animal world... you cannot adopt all animals as much as you would like, but you can find a true love, settle down and have kids if you choose - having both just won't work.
