Girl your crazy. You don't think that white women get treated badly. We get treated badly by white men and black men as apposed to black women who normaly won't give a white man the time a day so they only get treated badly by hmmmm black men. If you let a man treat you badly he will. Sounds like you are hanging around the wrong kind of men. Get away from the wanna-bs and get around the real men.

I agree with s72. The media portrays black women the way they do because we let them. Same goes for rap videos. And we really do need to start letting our money speak for us. If you don't like how a product or artist is showing or treating black women, then don't support them. Don't buy the cd, watch the movie or television show, purchase the products being endorsed, don't let your kids buy or use the products, don't dance to those songs at the club, and don't vote for the politician that you know isn't acting right. It's time we took a stand and say that we won't put up with this mess anymore.
It's also time some of us took some responsibility. If somebody gets shot on your street and you have curlers in your hair, don't let the news people interview you. Don't dance like a ho in the nasty rap video. Don't talk sh*t on Jerry Springer. And do something about all those bebe kids. They can't talk about us if there's nothing to talk about.

Vote with your money. Any song degrading women should be on your "no buy" list. Tell everybody you're hanging with that you're not going to listen. If a guy listens to that crap, dump him and tell him why.
If enough women do this, the scumbags who think this way will not find a markey for their drivel.
The same goes for violent songs that use the word "*****" ad nauseum. This junk is out there so much because it sells.

It's not exclusively black women. Minorities in general aren't too well-represented in the media.
Also, you might not be looking in the right places. I haven't met anyone with that mindset, and while I'm fully aware they exist, it's not a universal thing.

I think all women are beautiful as long as they are confident... It isn't based on color, or your income or the music you listen to. You just need to find guys who respect you and want you... not some cheating jerk...

One of the reasons the media is hard on us is because they try to make us hate everything about ourself, then when we hate it and try to change it they steal it. Example Big lips then they get lip implants. They tell us we have big buts then they get but implants
