You may not believe this, but it is a much bigger deal to you than to them. Just go in and forget it. Believe me, they are more concerned about their own selves and the party in general than just focusing on you. Be your usual helpful self and be productive. If anyone asks just say, "oh yeh, not being a drinker, I was later told I should have eaten first! I think in the future I will just avoid it all together." Don't fall over yourself and apologize, that will minimize their memory of the behavior. Don't Worry!

What happened? Did you make a fool out of yourself? Where you just tipsy? Did you say something inapporpriate?
Call a co-worker to get the low down. Also, your co-worker may know how the higher ups felt about your performance.
After you get the full scoop you should apologize for your behavior. I would be honest and say that you don't drink often...so you felt the effects quickly.
If the CEO was there he probably gave you signs your behavior was inappropriate if he felt so. We had a President who didn't drink but always gave us an open bar at Christmas parties. He never minded if we got a little tipsy.
But, hubby's boss doesn't drink either. And, he is offended at the behavior. So, knowing your boss' feelings on the matter will help you deflame the sitution.

It would help if you said what you did that so bad.
If you don't remember, talk to someone who was there that likes you.
If you were just really drunk, and that's it, just put out the word about how you don't usually drink, and it hit you really hard.
But without knowing what you did, it's hard for us to say what, if anything, you should do now.

Unless it's clearly a topic of conversation, just forget about it. People have short memories.
If you did something that EVERYONE saw, or that offended someone in particular, a sincere, personal apology is in order. Say it ONCE, never mention it again and get on with life.

On Monday you say, "Wow, I should know better than to drink on an empty stomach. I will NEVER do that again. If I did anything to offend you please accept my deepest apology, it will NEVER happen again." There isn't a person on this earth who hasn't done/said something they've regretted later. Don't worry so much, it will blow over.

For future reference, when drink you should milk it, and since your not used to drinking that often, make sure to drink dry wines so that you can tell easier when your overdoing it, avoid sweet wines like sangria.
