I'm 15 years old and started a diet about 8 months ago. I'm 6'2 in height.

When I first started out, I was 260 pounds, so I went on a diet and started eating more healthy and started running 2 miles a day on the treadmel.

Now, I'm 205 pounds (55 loss) but starting to see saggy skin (barely). I want to drop to 180 but scared that I will sag more. My friends tell me to start working out with low weights and lots of reps to get rid of it but a lot of people say you cant get rid of it.

I need advice on how to prevent any more skin sagging and how to get rid of it.

You need to remember what has happened..... You have stuffed that skin full of fat...and stretched it out..... And depending upon how long it was stuffed full of fat will depend upon how long it will take the skin to contract. That will depend upon several things... length of time you were too heavy, your age (in this case super good on your side!!! :>D) and your genetic make-up (nothing you can do anything about.)

Continue to loose the weight, and continue to eat a healty diet and to exercise, to keep your weight down. The absorption of excess skin will be slow. Likely in less than 2 years, the collegen in your skin will take up the slack, and you will see nothing in the way of hanging skin (two years -- that is slow).... (As I said, likely, but not guaranteed. There are other things you can do years down the road if the problem does not resolve with some time.)

But don't get discouraged.... Have had friends who were way heavier than you, way older, and lost the weight, had the hanging skin, and it did disappear.... just not immediately, as they had hoped.

You're 15. That means your skin still has plenty of elasticity in it. It will sag as you lose weight but because you have age on your side, most, if not all of it will eventually shrink back to normal.

Although gravity will take its toll on a face eventually, you can slow it down by avoiding too much sun. Use a good sunscreen ALWAYS when you're outside, even on cloudy days and in winter.

Keep harsh chemicals away from your skin. Don't pull or tug. That, and keep it well moisturized with a LIGHT moisturizer. Nothing too heavy. Drink plenty of water each day.

Once you've lost all the weight you need to lose, try to keep that weight fairly steady. No yo-yo dieting.

Depending on how long you have been overweight will determine the sag in your skin. I'd say that you don't have anything to worry about since your are so young. Yes, you'll see some sagging, but I promise you, in a few months the sag will tighten up. It takes a little while for the skin to adjust to your new body shape. Add some weights, what could it hurt? Keep on keepin' on, honey! I'm very proud of you! Godloveya.

At 15 you should still have elasticity in your skin so it should slowly tighten up. Even at my age (41) my skin has tightened up somewhat from the weight I have lost over the last 2 years. I do workout with weights and resistance training which does help.

I think that you are young enough for the skin to go back to normal, however loosing so much weight will cause saggy skin. When you gain weight your skin stretches to accomidate the fat. Your skin looses its elasticity. You need to do pilates, and weight training to get your skin to shrink. But be advised it may not go completely back to normal. But it will shrink some.
