pmr radio's?

can anyone help?

ive got a pair of pmr radios crappy ones that have 8 channels and can communicate for about 3km in open space or about 50metres in a built up area. i was wondering if its possible to mess about with them and boost the range on them. also same question for a 40channel cb radio is it possible to extend its range (this cb is a handheld one just like the pmr's)

maplins do a "booster" that covers these bands but not in one unit ie one for cb ranges and one for pwr

why dont you buy a booster from argos, or just buy new ones.
