Mark Martin is the man of Nascar. He is the most respected driver among the drivers to this day. Regardless if he wins , looses, or gets involved in a wreck he shows alot of sportsmanship towards everyone. I'm going hate to see him leave. As I did when Rusty Wallace retired too.

There are only a few drivers from the old school.Martin,Marlin,Schrader,Petty are old school drivers.They are the ones who helped pave the way for the modern drivers.So many new drivers are unknown or have 1 good junior circuit seasons and next thing you know they are in the major circuit and
for unknown reasons they are in a major ride.This leads te way forthe gay stories.
The old school drivers worked and earned their way to a major ride.Martin,Marlin,Schrader,Petty all have eared their place in NASCAR.

Papabill is 100% correct. ( Thank you for naming Schrader in there, he is my favorite driver.) These young drivers and fans respect the older drivers who lead the way. Remember Nascar was not always as popular as it is now. Mark acts like a gentleman therefore he gets treated as one!!

Because he's a good driver, has been around for ages, and stays out of the drama limelight. Oh, and the fact that he drove the Viagra car without batting an eyelash says a lot about his confidence level. People just don't make fun of those with lots of self-confidence!

Martin is a very respected old-school driver, Lots of class too, look at what he has also done for the sport........A long committed marriage to the women he loves, two children, stayed with Rousch Racing for his career........I am not a fan of any Rousch Racing driver but, they all have my respect.........

Because he's been happily married for, like, 20 yrs, and has children. You don't make fun of somebody that lucky!
