So my butler made my lunch with a butter knife instead of a sandwich knife i fired him on the spot because it was very unacceptable. It was totally the right thing to do right?? or if not why?? I mean i may be only 7 but i rule my house and no one can tell me what to do

Yikes! Drama Queen is not the term I would use, but it will do. :-)
The first thing you need to do, little girl, is put yourself in other's shoes once in a while. How would you feel if you got kicked out of your house (forever) because you used a butter knife at the table instead of a steak knife? Or what if your mother locked you in your room because you were wearing the wrong colored shoes on that day (you want pink, she wants brown.)
If what you are saying is even half true, your parents are in for a wild ride, and your future will be doomed to unhappiness due to your lack of compassion, selfish greed, and excessive narcissism (look it up if you don't know the meaning.)
Start treating people the way that you want to be treated.
P.S. I hope that you truly aren't 7 years old---if your parents are allowing a moniker like Sexylibrarian, or not monitoring you enough to be aware of it, then I pity you.

Honey, I am appalled. This is absurd. You are of seven years of age and you own a butler. That is horrific! I mean, what is this nubile world coming to??? When I was that age, I was doing slave labor for my grandmother and grandfather! I served all meals and did all the chores around the house. And you have a butler? Well to answer your question, it was DEFINITELY not appropriate to fire him for using the wrong knife. How could you tell anyways, and there is no such thing as a sandwich knife to begin with! It is not even right for you to have a butler at all, much less to fire him for this minor mishap! You're obscene, please go visit a mental hospital to regain your sanity, and bring your parents with you!

Why did you only fire him? I would have had him castrated if he used a butter knife to make my sandwich. You are right in firing him, I mean he was so totally out of line. You just can't find good butlers these days. If you were my brat I would put you over my knee and spank your bottom with a razor strap until you bled! Seek some emotional help for yourself and the poor butler's life who was destroyed because of your silliness who cares if your hungry you eat. But maybe he wanted to get fired cause you are being a brat, you may have did him a favor?
Now back to reality.....for 7 years old you type very well...and if you type that well GO make your own sandwich...LOL

I think etiquette is very important, when its not met, depending on the personality,values they believe, and life style they live, it could bother them. I think etiquette is about respecting others, it create comfortable environment. Most likely, using wrong knife to make sandwich did bothered you. However; cost his job for it may little over react. Its not something he did on purpose to be bad to you. You may want to talk to him(communicate) that you really prefer using proper utensil while his doing his work. And if your butler is overall good person, I'd suggest to keep him, lets have some humanity as well.

Who cares how your sandwich was made, it got you fed now didn't it?

If you're so smart and know how to do all these thing, why don't you make a sandwich by yourself? that way you can use your precious sandwich knife

i hate rich people that don't know how to do work. If your dadys rich and u never have to do work and you live off his mmoney then when he dies you'll get his money and teach your kids not to work and by the time they are old enough to work you will have no money left and your kids will have no work ethic. I say if someone is not contributing to society or they never did then they don't deserve to be in america
